  14. I hav a problem with my GVP A3050 Acc.  card.  It's an old model ('91) with
  15. a  Ram  card  connected to the CPU card itself an an AT-Bus controler.  CPU
  16. Card  is  Rev  7  (030  &  882  @ 50 MHZ) the "A2000-Ram32" is Rev 3 with 8
  17. sockets  for  GVP  Simms.   And right there is the problem.  The card won't
  18. reconize  all  8 4MB modules (all original GVP 60 ns).  Depending on Jumper
  19. J5  on  the  Ram  Card it will recognize :
  20. J5 OPEN :  16 MB at $1000000 
  21. J5 SHORTENED :  4 MB at $200000 (autoconfig) and 16 MB at $1000000
  22.  
  23. There  are  16  or  12  MB  "missing".  If I remove 12 MB from the card and
  24. perform a memory test it reports no errors (for some people might think the
  25. card  addresses only 1 MB from the lower 3 4 MB modules).  I think it can't
  26. be  a  mechanical problem, I've cleaned the Simm sockets and changed places
  27. of all simms but this didn't help.

  29. There is a jumper to enable oder disable the code in eprom U34 (27256).  If
  30. disabled  the card includes no memory at all.  The eprom is labeled :  OMNI
  31. 3.3, is there a newer version, which might fixes my problem?

  33. The  german  doc  (by DTM) says that the board can be expanded up to 32 MB,
  34. but  in  the english doc there is no statement about memory expansion, only
  35. about  "using  1 MB GVP Simms" and "using 1 and 4 MB Simms together" but no
  36. "using only 4 MB Simms".

  38. Asking  M-TEC  (the  german  GVP  distribution  site)  doesn't help me, the
  39. technician had no plans to this card :(
